Blackus the Cat

On March 30, 2001, Blackus died at the age of 19 years, 1 month. He was the first cat who lived out his entire life with me. I will miss him.

Lying in front of fireplace
February 3, 2001. Lying in front of the fire. This was during a party where he just delighted in all the attention. Drawing by Monica Olsen.

Cat in window
Taken in 1998, he is lying on his favorite sleeping pad in the window.

Cat picture
Blackus is lying in the dining room window, taken 4/99 (by Brigitte Gueret, who visited from France). The contrast is a little strange to compensate for excess sunlight. He spends a lot of time in this spot.

Giant fangs
Big yawn displays his amazing fangs. At his age, they are quite long. Any cat that lives a long time and avoids injury will develop huge fangs. Hence the term "Long in the tooth."
